Part III: Detailed Information
General Description
Heather is an average little girl. Her skin isn't overly pale or overly tan. Her hair is hardly ever tidy, and gets snarled easily, which causes her a lot of frustration, since her mother is of the opinion that little girls should have tidy hair all the time. She also gets in trouble for sucking on the ends. She has a few freckles across the bridge of her nose and on her arms. She can often be found with dirt under her nails, or on her clothes, because she likes playing where she shouldn't. She's got a "really good scar on her knee" from when she fell roller skating in June. It needed stitches, which made her pleased. She wears jean and baggy t-shrits with her prized high top sneakers, which her dad found her at a charity shop.
Heather is very active, and often into things she shouldn't be. One of her favorite places to play is out behind the shop where her mother works, near the rubbish skip, because of all the neat things she finds there. She hangs out with three or four of the other kids in her neighborhood, and gets along with them okay. They like to go on adventures around the town once a week on Thursdays. These range from braving the Underground on their own to sneaking to market and causing mischief.
She has gone to English primary school prior to attending Hogwarts. She can read, write, and do basic maths. She isn't all that enamored with school though. Reading is boring, and she has number dyslexia, which makes maths very difficult. She's not looking forward to school in the fall, because some of her friends are going to different schools. She has heard older kids talking about leaving school after they turn sixteen, and has decided that this would be an excellent idea for her.
Personality
Heather is a very active, outgoing girl. She hasn't yet hit puberty, so she isn't self-conscious of her appearance. If you're grubby, you've been having fun is her philosophy. She has just started including her brother Adam on her minor adventures, because he is old enough to be interesting now. She doesn't like her littlest brother Jack very much, because he's not able to really play yet.
Heather really likes animals. Her cat is a mangy, 6 year old brown tabby cat she "rescued" from the streets when she was five. As such, it has a typical "named by a 5 year old" name: Sublima Jessamine Flopsy Jones, usually called one of the three names, depending on Heather's mood. Her parents aren't very fond of the cat, but let her keep it because she is actually responsible about its care.
Background:
Heather comes from a working class family in London's East End. She lives with her parents, two little brothers, and cat in a small 3 bedroom row house. Her father is a plant manager for the local steel mill, and was recently given a company car. This is the only car the family owns. Her mum works for a local stationery shop. She stries to keep all 3 children tidy, because she likes to appear better off than her neighbors, but Heather's propensity to get into trouble makes that difficult.
Home life is pretty normal for Heather. She and her little brothers are watched by one of the neighbors during the day, but Mrs. Robeson doesn't mind if she plays outside, so long as she comes in for tea, and is in and washed by the time her mother gets off work and picks them up. Mrs. Robeson doesn't like being interrupted from her Emmerdale, after all. She and her brothers go to Mrs. Robeson's about 9am, then she gets to play outside with her mates till tea. On Sundays, her dad drags them to church, but it's mostly to make sure people see them at church, Heather thinks.
Her parents were shocked to find out their eldest child was actually a witch. Heather herself was very surprised, but that feeling was quickly replaced with delight. Miraculously not getting caught in some of her adventures made sense. She can't wait to see all the magic wizard things, and learn to do spells. It hasn't quite sunk in yet that Hogwarts will be school much like normal school. She thinks it will be more enchanting, like some of the magic in movies, or the games she played when she was younger. The only thing she's not entirely happy about is that she can't tell her friends about being a witch.
Please explain how your character feels about the following characters.
Professor Dumbledore:
Brilliant! He looks just like a proper wizard, and he's funny. Much better than her last headmaster.
Professor Snape:
He's mean. He looks like a movie villain, and he's more strict than her old maths teacher. He doesn't understand that numbers don't like her. She doesn't like sitting through his class and hearing the mean things he says to her.
Professor Quirrell:
He's not bad, for a teacher. The books for his class at least look interesting, but there aren't enough stories about all the stuff, just facts. Quirrell hasn't had any proper adventures fighting Dark stuff, that Heather can tell, so it makes him seem a little sad.
Professor Kettleburn:
Heather can't take his class till her 3rd year, but she knows she wants to then. If they get to meet real unicorns and dragons and stuff, then she knows she'll like him. One of the older kids pointed him out at the staff table, and he looks like he's had all sorts of excellent adventures.
