Rules Governing Shared Hogwarts
Here you will find the rules for character creation, submitting artwork and stories, and general SharedHogwarts ettiquette.
Character Creation
- Characters must be students, ranging from their first to seventh year at Hogwarts.
- Characters may be related to canon characters, provided nothing in the canon character's history discounts it. (Example: You may not play Dean Thomas' older brother/sister because, according to Ms. Rowling's novels, Dean's mother had no knowledge of wizards before Dean got his letter.)
- You may not play an animagus or a metamorphmagus. Both are rare in the wizarding world. The former requires knowledge and skill above the ordinary wizarding level, and the latter is a very rare inborn trait we are not allowing in this game.
- Likewise, you may not play a character who can speak parseltongue. That gift has not been seen at Hogwarts since Voldemort, and Harry will be the first to have it at school in a few years time.
- Your character must be at least eleven years old at the start of their first year.
- You may not play an adult at Hogwarts (i.e. teacher, Filch, ministry worker). Teachers are board-owned NPCs.
- You may play multiple characters. However, please try not to place all your characters in the same house.
- You may not play a ghost.
- All characters must be approved by the moderators.
- Your character may not start out as a prefect or Head Boy/Girl. These are special ranks that may be awarded at a future date.Point System
